UP Bhulekh is a portal that was launched by Uttar Pradesh Revenue Board to digitize Uttar Pradesh land records and make them available to the citizens via a web portal. The government involved the state NIC for this digitization process which made land ownership-related details, including ‘Khatauni’ (Records of Rights), available to all transparently.
UP Bhulekh portal has been designed to help you avoid the hassle of visiting a Tehsildar or Patwari anytime he/she needs to verify the land records in Uttar Pradesh.
The word ‘Bhulekh’ is made up of two words: ‘Bhu’ means land and ‘Lekh’ means the account (in Hindi). Thus, UP Bhulekh means the land records in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The land records available on the Uttar Pradesh Bhulekh website include the khata (land) details, Khasra number (land parcel identification numbers), and Khatauni (list of holdings of an individual or family in that village) as per the digital database of the state government. The digital database has been created for all the districts of Uttar Pradesh.
The database has details of all the registered land holding according to the Khasara and Khata number, along with the ownership details of the land. Listed are details available on the portal:
The portal authorizes any citizen to check the land details of a piece of land in the state. With the introduction of the portal (website), the state government has digitized all the tasks related to the land records, such as the Khatauni system and Jamabandi, which used to be done manually on paper a few years back, providing transparency related to the entire life of UP Khatauni and other land information.
On the next page, you can search by Khasara Number, Khata Number, Name of the owner (Khatedaar)
Type the information and press of the search (green) button
The land details are presented in a specific format
Other land records, including code of revenue village and plot, can also be checked on UP Bhulekh by following the procedure listed above. However, the portal requires a viewer to have a few details, such as the Khata No, Khasra No or name of the Khatedaar, to view these details.
On Bhulekh UP you can obtain details about the code of revenue village khatauni and plot. The step by step procedure is as follows -
1. Login to Bhulekh UP i.e http://upbhulekh.gov.in/
2. Click on “know the unique code of revenue village khatauni” on the home page
3. On the next page select the district, tehsil, and select village name/village code
4. Under Select Village name/Village Code you can find the code of revenue of the village
You can follow the above steps to obtain the details of code of the plot.
As UP Bhulekh is a portal that provides details around land ownership of land, these records are very important while verifying the details of the landowner during the sale or purchase of land. Additionally, the information can also be utilized to avoid property fraud as the portal (website) gives information of the true owner of the property, exact area, type of land, any encumbrances, including loan, lease, stay order, etc.
The portal can also be used to check the official status of changes of name or land type, and to check whether the mutation of the land has been done in the new owner’s name or not, after the sale deed registration.
In case of mutation, the buyer can also check for illegal sale or ensure that the land parcel does not include non-transferable land, such as Talab (pond), Gram Sabha (Panchayat) land, pastures or Patta land.
No, the online details are only for informative purposes.
For official purposes, the owner needs to get an authorized copy by making an application in the Revenue Department (Tehsil Office) along with a nominal fee. He/She can collect a physical copy from the department which would be legally valid.
